Shell and IMD MBA Alumni Scholarships, Switzerland
The five Shell and IMD MBA Alumni Scholarships are designed to encourage diversity in the class. One is awarded to each region: Asia, Africa/Middle East, Latin America, Eastern Europe and Western Europe/North America/Oceania.
Number of scholarships: Five (one from each area)
Amount: CHF 30,000
Geographic region:

Who can qualify: Accepted candidates who are citizens, but not necessarily current residents, of the above geographical areas
Criteria:
Submitting an essay on:
“As a business leader, which issue would you set as your first priority to address in your region / country? Why would you choose this issue? How would you, personally, address it?”
(maximum 1000 words)
Please draw on your own experiences in your answer, rather than on general, broad statements. The committee is looking for essays that are personal, visionary and demonstrate leadership, which include a clearly articulated description of how the solution could be implemented.

Applicants must have been accepted into the IMD MBA program prior to their application.
Our scholarship applications are essay based, with winning essays typically including the following features:
- Relevance to the essay title
- Organization and structure
- Fully developed arguments
- Persuasiveness
- Personal element and/or passion
IMD reserves the right not to award a scholarship if the criteria are not met to the satisfaction of the jury / sponsors.

i am a graduate of the university of buea,south western region.republic of cameroon.i hold a bcs hons in banking and finance and a diploma in computerized accounting.
also i hold a five year working expirence in the field holding the position of a branch head in one of the country,s leading micro financial institution.
i aim as an african woman is to become a leader and icon in the financial sector of my country from which my fellow female genre are avoiding.

I am Mukasa Joseph Kiwanuka, a Ugandan National born in 1981. I graduated with a Bsc. In Mechanical Engineering degree (Hons 1st class with a Cumulative Grade Point Average of 4.57) from Makerere University in October 2005. I also hold ACCA qualification and became a full ACCA member in March 2010.
Over the past four years i have worked with Ernst & Young Certified Public Accountants, Kampala Office (one of the biggest 4 global audit firms) now at Senior Auditor level. This has given me great experience and exposure in as far as running of different businesses ranging from Government parastals, NGOs, manufacturing and petroleum companies, and operations of large scale banks is concerned.
I have no doubt if given the scholarship opportunity i can contribute greatly to society given my academic excellence and work experience track record with an International firm of Ernst & Young’s status.
I am a self driven person, able to work under minimal supervision.

as Ethiopian is developing country ,a comprehensive improvement in education is the starting point for the all rounded development of the nation . this comprehensive improvement enables the country to get a well trained and educated worker which is the immediate need of the country . this crucial aim is realized only if the learners learning in the high qualified education institutions .most of the education institutions exist in Ethiopia have a shortage of specialized person ,who equip the students practically and theoretical to high extent .so, I aimed to improve my self first ,then students .This is a reason why I select this specialist area . hence if i get the chance to study at any institute it would greatly help to reduce the shortage of skilled man power in the department as well as in the country.
